Building our Regions Round 6

The Building our Regions program has a long and successful history of supporting Queensland’s local governments to invest in essential regional infrastructure and creating flow-on economic development opportunities and jobs.

Round 6 of Building our Regions will offer $70 million over 3 years for local governments to improve their water supply and sewerage systems.

Construction project expressions of interest have closed.

Detailed applications are expected to open on Wednesday 2 February 2022 and close on Tuesday 3 May 2022.

Eligibility

All local governments outside South East Queensland are eligible for funding through Building our Regions Round 6. Funding pools and project eligibility varies based on the water service provider size of the local government body applying. You can view the map of local government eligibility (PDF, 1.7MB).

Funded projects

Previous rounds of Building our Regions have seen more than $348 million approved towards 271 projects across 67 local government body areas. These projects have leveraged more than $539 million in additional funding from other sources for a total capital expenditure of more than $887 million, supporting an estimated 2,700 jobs.
