  • Detailed applications for construction projects are closed and now being assessed.

The Building our Regions program has a long and successful history of supporting Queensland’s local governments to invest in essential regional infrastructure and creating flow-on economic development opportunities and jobs.

Round 6 of Building our Regions will offer $70 million over 3 years for local governments to improve their water supply and sewerage systems.

Construction projects

Detailed applications are now closed and are currently being assessed. Outcomes of the assessments will be announced from August 2022.

Planning projects

Applications for planning projects have closed. Successful planning project recipients have been contacted and details of awarded grants will be published shortly.

Funded projects

Previous rounds of Building our Regions have seen more than $348 million approved towards 271 projects across 67 local government body areas. These projects have leveraged more than $539 million in additional funding from other sources for a total capital expenditure of more than $887 million, supporting an estimated 2,700 jobs.
